The iconic Danfords Hotel, Resort & Spa in Port Jefferson is set for a culinary transformation in 2025.
Long Island-based Top Flight Foods Group will take over the management of the harbor-side property’s Ferryman’s Grille & Bar and all event catering services, according to a press release sent to Greater Long Island on Tuesday.
The partnership, announced by the hotel’s operator, TPG Hotels & Resorts, aims to enhance the dining and event experience while preserving Danfords’ historic charm.
“We are thrilled to partner with a local, respected company like Top Flight to manage all food and beverage services at Danfords” said Paul Hitselberger, executive vice president of operations at TPG Hotels & Resorts. “Principals Joe Vitrano and Bill Monaco have a tremendous track record and stellar reputation, and we are confident they will deliver exceptional dining and event catering experiences to our valued guests at Danfords”.
Ferryman’s Grille & Bar, along with the bar/lounge and ballroom, will undergo a refresh and rebranding, expected to be completed by May 2025. Importantly, all 30-40 events already booked between January and April 2025 will proceed without disruption, the announcement reads.
“While Ferryman’s Grille and Bar will be closed during the off-season for a refresh and rebranding, Danfords Hotel, Marina and Spa remains open and the food and beverage operations for all our booked events will continue without interruption during this brief transition period” said Joe Vitrano, president of Top Flight.
Vitrano added that his team is actively reaching out to those with existing event reservations to ensure a smooth transition and to reaffirm the company’s ongoing commitment to excellence.
Founded in 1986 as Danfords Inn, the hotel currently operates 92 guest rooms and suites, with catering space totaling 14,000 square feet. In 2021, TPG Hotels & Resorts acquired Danfords from The Crest Group.
