New SAYville Cheese shop set for grand opening on Sept. 17

It’s the kind of news that makes you smile and say(ville) cheese!

The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce announced that it will host a grand opening ceremony for SAYville Cheese on Friday, Sept. 17, in downtown Sayville.

The event, taking place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at 110 Main St., will include a special ribbon cutting ceremony led by the chamber President Eileen Tyznar, cheese tastings, cheese pairings with wine selections from Down the Rabbit Hole Wine Boutique in Sayville, scrumptious treats from CookieBaby, and an opportunity to meet the new shop’s owner Christine White.

“The chamber is so excited to see another great artisan storefront on Main Street!” Tyznar said. “Christine’s charcuterie boards are an edible work of art. We look forward to her joining the other delicacy and specialty stores making Sayville once again a destination.”

SAYville Cheese had previously operated out of Paris Street Market on South Main Street. The new cheese shop opening comes on the heals of the summer closing of foodie fan favorite American Cheese in Sayville.

After closing its Railroad Avenue location in 2020, American Cheese had temporarily opened inside the historic Thornhill’s Pharmacy building on Main Street, sharing space with Sayville N Spice. But the owners have since shifted their focus to hosting pop-up events.
