The North Babylon School District has just announced the hiring of a new director of physical education, health, recreation and athletics.
The position went to Jason Frisen, who last served in a similar role for the Mohonasen Central School District in Schenectady, N.Y.
“He brings more than 18 years of experience in education and coaching to the district,” said a North Babylon district spokesperson.
Frisen holds dual master’s degrees, one in physical education from Columbia University, and the other in educational leadership and administration from Long Island University.
“He also holds several certifications, including School Building Leadership and School District Leadership, a permanent teaching certification in physical education, and a permanent license in high school and junior high school physical education for New York City,” reads a district announcement.
The new hire start Aug. 20.
