Healthfirst, New York’s largest not-for-profit health insurance company, held a grand opening ceremony for its new community outreach office in Patchogue Village.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new office, which is located at 114 West Main Street in the New Village at Patchogue complex, happened last month.

During the festivities, local community members and political leaders stopped by to welcome the new business to the area.

“We are delighted to open the doors of our newest office in Patchogue, which demonstrates our commitment to Long Island and the people who count on a local health plan like Healthfirst to meet their needs,” said Healthfirst’s senior vice president for growth, Paul Portsmore.

To help better serve the community, Healthfirst has a staff of bilingual representatives who are fluent in Spanish and English.

“This location is providing our members and other residents with personal attention and the opportunity to learn firsthand about Healthfirst’s program offerings,” said Portsmore.

According to Healthfirst, the new location — built by Tritec Real Estate, the developers of the mixed-use New Village — will also be used to hold workshops in conjunction with other local organizations.

The new office is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

After opening its first Long Island location in Hempstead back in 2012, the organization now has six spaces (including Patchogue) across the island.

Healthfirst says they serve over 100,000 Long Islanders.
