A deteriorating stretch of Route 112 between Main Street in Patchogue Village and Lincoln Road in North Patchogue is slated for repairs later this summer, according to the state Department of Transportation.Â
No traffic advisory with work dates and closure details has yet been issued.
The project comes as part of a $7.8 million effort by the DOT to repair Long Island roadways and improve safety, said DOT spokeswoman Eileen Peters.
During the 112 mill and fill operation, the top layer of the heavily damaged pavement will be removed and replaced, Peters said.
Traffic signal vehicle detector loops will also be replaced and fresh pavement markings installed, she said.
Drainage cleaning and repairs will also be performed.Â
