Obituary: Frederick Wohlleb of Patchogue and his amazing heart

|

Frederick R. Wohlleb of Patchogue died on Sunday, Feb. 25. He was 69.

Below is a tribute from his family.

Dad (Freddie) (Bike Man) (Deli Man). Fashion was not his thing. Being fake was not his thing. Doing anything half-ass was not his thing.

His thing was having an amazing heart!

Never shy to share his opinion or speak up for what was right. Always ready to say it like it is, whether you were ready to hear it or not.

Dad was always about doing things and treating everyone in life the right way. He was a little stubborn — ok, very stubborn — but he did it his way and stayed true to it.

No matter who we ran into, they would say how much they love our father and how great of a man he was, and then ask how he was doing.

He had that much of an impact on people.

They would also say: We see him everywhere riding his bike like a madman with his blonde hair flowing in the wind — and point out that he would never stop for anyone for any reason.

He loved to play practical jokes and could make any kid smile He loved his Yankees, Giants, Rangers, and Celtics. He loved his sports radio, and reading his newspaper while eating an egg sandwich by the water.

He loved nature and taking walks in the woods. He loved his hot sauce — and if you didn’t add some hot sauce to your own food while with him, you weren’t tough!

He loved playing with his kids and then, eventually, his grandkids. Freddy loved going to watch their games.

He loved being around people, even though he wouldn’t admit it.

A great and unforgettable guy to everyone who has met him, but more importantly an amazing father. We love you dad and will miss you forever!!!

May you Rest In Peace.

Love, Michelle, Derek and Matt. If you would like to pay your respects, we will be celebrating his life Friday, March 2, at JT’s Cafe in Blue Point from 1 – 4 p.m.
