Our hometown hero: TD Bank and Sayville honor Chamber President Eileen Tyznar

|

TD Bank has released a special video tribute to Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce President Eileen Tyznar, honoring her tireless work and leadership during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Eileen is truly an amazing person,” Patricia Owens, local TD Bank store manager, says during the video. “During COVID, she’d visit every store by herself and say ‘What do you need? What can I do for you.'”

“Eileen has always been a figure head in the town of Sayville. She has the entire town on her back,” Matt Latten, owner of Sayville Cinemas, adds in the video.

Tyznar is an educational advocate and the owner of TEACH Consulting in Sayville. This spring, she established the Greater Sayville Small Business Relief Fund this spring. The effort has raised more than $23,000 to help small businesses hit hard by revenue losses due to COVID-19.

At a fundraising, drive-in movie event last month, TD Bank surprised Tyznar with an onscreen video tribute that featured members of the community thanking Tyznar. She also received $10,000 from TD Bank for her business to continue to help children with disabilities.

TD Bank this month has released another video tribute to Tyznar, this one including footage of her tearful reaction to the August tribute.

“I will never have the sense of community that I have here in Sayville,” Tyznar says in the video. “I will cheer for this town through and through. I will not stop.”
