Photos: Scenes from Lindenhurst’s first-ever St. Patrick’s Day parade

Today marked the first-ever St. Patrick’s Day parade in the Village of Lindenhurst.

The parade marched through the downtown’s business district at 11 a.m. The grand marshal was former New York congressman Peter King.

Trustee RJ Renna previously told greaterlongisland.com talks of a St. Patrick’s Day parade percolated as the village worked toward revitalizing its business district in recent years. Landing a new Irish pub, Belfast Gastropub, in town became a key catalyst.

“We know all the businesses from downtown are going to benefit tremendously from this,” Renna said.

Photographer Linda Sasso was on the scene to capture moments from the day.
