From now until springtime, Port Jeff’s parking meters will be offline.
The annual freeze in paying for parking in municipal lots is to help encourage holiday shopping in the winter months, said village officials.
(Street parking is free year-round, though with time constraints.)
“We do this to encourage people to come to Port during the holidays and winter months when we are not as busy with the summer tourist and boaters,” Port Jeff Mayor Margot Garant previously told GreaterPortJeff.
According to Port Jeff’s parking administrator Kevin Wood, the meters will remain off until at least March 15.
