Raising Cane’s is getting closer; opens first location in Brooklyn

|

While Raising Cane’s hasn’t yet expanded to Nassau or Suffolk counties, they’re getting close.

This year, the popular chicken finger chain began its expansion into New York, currently operating three locations in New York City, with the most recent one opening to the east of Manhattan. The newest restaurant is located in Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay at 523 Kings Highway, which opened this Tuesday.

The other two Raising Cane’s locations are both situated in Manhattan, one in Times Square, which opened in June, and the other in NoHo, which opened last month.

During the launch of what the company now considers its flagship location in the heart of Times Square, Raising Cane’s founder and CEO, Todd Graves, spoke with Greater Long Island. The company, originally headquartered in Baton Rouge, La., has ambitious plans to open “hundreds” of locations across New York State, particularly in the Tri-State area.

There are three Raising Cane’s in the works for Long Island:

  • Hauppauge at Route 111 and Smithtown Bypass
  • Commack at Commack Road and Vanderbilt Parkway
  • East Meadow at Hempstead Turnpike and Newbridge Road

These locations are expected to open by 2025.

Founded by Graves in 1996 at Louisiana State University, Raising Cane’s is renowned for its chicken finger meals, Texas toast, and its secret Cane’s sauce. According to its website, the chain has expanded to over 600 spots across the United States.
