Something strange is stirring inside the Nathaniel Rogers House.

This Saturday, the Bridgehampton Museum is teaming up with Long Island Paranormal Investigators for a rare, nighttime exploration of the historic 19th-century mansion — and maybe, just maybe, a few bumps in the night.

Built in 1824 and later remodeled by famed mini-portrait artist Nathaniel Rogers, the Greek Revival home has seen its share of Long Island history.

Now, visitors are invited to step inside after dark for a guided investigation using real ghost-hunting equipment — EMF readers, temperature gauges, voice recorders — the same tools used on professional paranormal shows.

“This is not a spooky walk or haunted house with built in scares,” the museum’s event listing notes. “These tours will be more akin to paranormal investigations as seen on TV shows like Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures.

The ghost hunts happen in two hour-long sessions, from 8 to 9 p.m. and again from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. Space is limited.

Attendees should be ready to climb stairs, stand quietly in the dark, and sign a waiver.

The event is part of the museum’s growing lineup of experiential programs that bring local history to life — and, in this case, maybe the afterlife.
