Ross Dress for Less to open fifth Long Island store in West Babylon

Ross Dress for Less is set to open its fifth Long Island location, with a West Babylon store set to hold its grand opening on July 18.

The new store is taking over the former Big Lots space at 501 Montauk Highway, next to Lidl.

It marks the chain’s latest expansion on Long Island following a string of openings over the past year. Ross debuted its first Long Island store in Hempstead last summer, followed by locations in Farmingville, Riverhead and Lake Grove.

The West Babylon location will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Ross is known for offering name-brand clothing, shoes, accessories and home décor at discounted prices, with inventory that shifts frequently to create a “treasure hunt” shopping experience. The chain has more than 1,800 locations nationwide and has been expanding steadily throughout the Northeast.

Shoppers turned out in large numbers for the chain’s earlier openings on Long Island.
