Santa’s coming to town: What to know for the Port Jeff Christmas parade

|

Jolly Old Saint Nick is stopping by for a visit to Port Jefferson Village this weekend.

The Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce‘s annual Santa Parade is this Sunday at 3 p.m. on Main Street in the village.

“The parade will be somewhat extensive and we’ll have many vehicles, floats, marchers, and community organizations,” said Barbara Ransome, director of operations for the chamber. “It’ll take about 45 minutes for the viewing.”

It starts in Upper Port Jefferson at the Long Island Rail Road train station and marches down to Main Street.

From there, paraders will make a left onto West Broadway and finish at the “Drown-Meadow Cottage” on the corner of Barnum and West Broadway, where Santa will be welcoming families into his workshop to take some free photos.

Masks are required upon entering Santa’s workshop, Ransome says.
