Sayville legend leads Wisconsin to blowout out win over Michigan State

|

Wisconsin won its seventh straight game with Sayville’s Jack Coan at quarterback on Saturday, this time taking down Michigan State, 38-0.

Coan completed 18 of 21 passes for 180 yards with one touchdown, leading a Badgers offense that outgained Michigan State’s, 402-149. The junior signal caller came into the game with the sixth-best pass completion percentage in the nation.

The No. 8 Badgers shut out a team that was ranked in the Top 25 just two weeks ago. Wisconsin is now 6-0 with four shutouts, outscoring their opponents, 255-29.

Coan completed his first seven passes of the game. He threw a 19-yard touchdown to Quintez Cephus in the first half. Coan and the Badgers look to keep their winning streak rolling on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Illinois (2-4).

Wisconsin’s winning streak with Coan at quarterback dates back to the Badgers’ Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami in Yankee Stadium last December.

Coan earned the Hansen Award as Suffolk County’s best football player in 2016.
