Greater Sayville coverage is funded in part by The Shed, your scratch kitchen for brunch and dinner daily at 21 Main St. in West Sayville.
The threat of fierce thunderstorms moving across Sayville and the rest of Suffolk County this evening has forced the postponement tonight of the first show in Sayville’s “Wednesdays in the Park” free summer concert series.
Soundswell was supposed to hit the stage at The Sayville Common Ground at Rotary Park at 7 p.m. Officials announced the show will instead take place on Thursday at 7 p.m., weather permitting.
You can still catch Soundswell tonight — the band is moving inside and will perform at the Blue Point Brewpub.
GreaterSayville’s original story on the free concert series is below.
Soundswell, featuring 6-foot-7 bass guitarist Keenan Boyle (aka “Tall Mutha Shucka”) of Sayville, kicks off The Sayville Common Ground at Rotary Park’s free summer concert series on Wednesday, July 7 (postponed until July 8, see above).
Boyle — a Sayville High School graduate — and the Soundswell crew will start playing their rock ‘n’ roll dance set at 7 p.m. in the park, located between Candee and Gillette avenues in Sayville, near Main Street.
