Selden Shoprite sells Powerball ticket worth $50,000

|

Somewhere on Long Island, there’s a lucky Powerball player with a boatload of cash waiting them at the New York Lottery.

Lottery officials reported that a third-prize-winning ticket was sold at Shoprite in College Plaza in Selden for the Saturday night Powerball drawing.

The lucky winner has $50,000 — before taxes — coming to them. There were no winners of the grand prize, which was $302.6 million heading into the 11 p.m. drawing.

Winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The red Power Ball comes from a separate field of one to 26.

The numbered balls drawn Saturday were 2, 12, 46, 52 and 65; the red Power Ball was 3.

The only other third-prize Powerball ticket sold in New York state on Saturday was purchased at Smokes 4 Less in Newburgh. Just last week, the same Newburgh shop sold a second-prize-winning Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million.

The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
