SmallCakes in Patchogue is now making donuts on weekends

|

There’s something new and tasty being whipped up at SmallCakes Cupcakery & Creamery in Patchogue.

And it goes beyond new cupcake flavors.

The owner of the cupcakery and creamery, Stony Brook grad Nicole Ramirez, announced last week the shop will be selling freshly made donuts and brownies.

The donuts, which were introduced in September on a trail basis, made their comeback this past three-day weekend. People went nuts.

“We sold out each day,” said Ramierez, “People really liked them.”

The donuts were vanilla-based with different toppings like fruity pebbles, chocolate chip cookie dough, and PB&J.

Because of the donuts’ success, Burkart and Ramirez will feature these sweet, round creations every Saturday and Sunday — with different flavors, of course.

“We are going to switch up,” said Ramirez, “Our bakers have full range.”

In addition to vanilla, the other bases for the in-house donuts will include chocolate and Bavarian cream. As far as brownies, they will be available on a special order basis only.

There will be traditional chocolate brownies, as well as others that are filled with fudge, raspberry, Nutella, and more.

And they use a torch to create their s’mores brownie.

“We are a franchise and it’s very nice because we can do whatever we want,” said Ramirez. “I haven’t seen any other SmallCakes do this, but the owners did reach out to us to learn more.”
