The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County and County Executive Steve Bellone announced that the annual Smith Point Light Show will be returning to Smith Point County Park next month.

The Smith Point Light Show, which boasts more than a mile of holiday-themed lights, will run Dec. 1-30 for its 17th anniversary.

The socially distanced drive-through is a safe option for families looking for holiday entertainment during the pandemic.

The holiday attraction is a strong source of fundraising for the Girl Scouts.

“Like so many nonprofits and businesses, we have been negatively impacted by the pandemic, and the Smith Point Light Show remains a strong source of fundraising for our Girl Scouts,” Pamela Mastrota, CEO and president of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, said in a press release.

“Proceeds benefit girl leadership programs as well as provide financial assistance for girls to join Girl Scouting and attend our summer camp program.”

Families can purchase tickets to the light show now for the special presale price of $20 per car until Nov. 30. Beginning Dec. 1, tickets will cost $22 per car if purchased online and $25 per car if purchased at the show’s entrance.

The press release specified that only credit cards will be accepted for payment at the gate.

County Executive Bellone said the annual light show is “a great cause” that brings people together.

“We are proud to once again partner with the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County to host the light show at the Smith Point County Park, that welcomed nearly 50,000 guests last year in support of the countless enrichment initiatives and services that the Girl Scouts provide.”
