Smoothie King expanding Long Island footprint with stores in Smithtown, Syosset

|

Smoothie King is about to double its Long Island presence.

The smoothie chain has announced its plans to blend deeper into the market in Suffolk and Nassau Counties. Two stores — one in Smithtown and other in Syosset — are coming soon.

The Smithtown location is planned for the Branch Shopping Plaza on Main Street, a retail center that is bustling with new business activity.

In the coming months, a new Sprouts Farmers Market is expected to open there. Meanwhile, the former LA Fitness space is being converted into a large Club Studio, a trending fitness experience that is mixing boutique fitness classes, luxury amenities and traditional gym rooms facility.

Founded in 1973 in New Orleans, Smoothie King is a national chain known for its fruit- and protein-based blended drinks designed around fitness, wellness and meal-replacement options.

Smoothie King operates over 1,200 locations in about 40 states across the U.S.

Smoothie King’s pricing is slightly higher than its chief competitor, Tropical Smoothie Café, though Smoothie King offers a deeper menu with more protein supplement options.

Current options are Carle Place and Melville

Additionally, Smoothie King emphasizes smoothies tailored to specific health goals, while Tropical Smoothie Cafe highlights fresh ingredients across all its offerings.

For now, Suffolk County fans of Smoothie King’s signature fruit and protein smoothies typically travel west to the company’s location in Melville. Aside from that shop, the only other Smoothie King on Long Island operates in Carle Place.
