The 8th annual William’s Chalk the Walk event is set for Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Blue Point Preserve, with a rain date of Sept. 29.
The event, which has drawn hundreds of participants in past years, features chalk art creation, DJ music, food trucks and raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Attendees can design 4-by-4-foot chalk artworks, inspirational sayings or hopeful messages.
William’s Warriors Inc., a nonprofit created in memory of William Schultz, uses proceeds to support pediatric cancer patients through art therapy supplies and “Creative Care Kits.” The organization also funds medulloblastoma research at Columbia University.
Organizers noted that the event is a beautiful day of celebration, and that this year’s event promises to be even bigger than previous years.
