A pair of Suffolk County cops arrived in the nick of time on Thursday to help an Amityville woman in labor deliver a baby boy in her home, police said.
First Precinct Officers Peter Verhey and Joshua Valderrama responded to 75 The Blvd. about 4:53 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that a woman was in labor.
When the officers arrived at the expecting-any-minute mother’s home, they found the woman, Aylara Alleyne, in the bathroom, in labor. The cops helped Alleyne, 34, in delivering her baby, before EMTs arrived shortly after the birth to assist.
Alleyne and her newborn son were taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip in good condition, police reported.
