Sweet arrival: Nothing Bundt Cakes debuts first Suffolk location, in Commack

|

The nation’s largest specialty cake company — and one of the country’s fasting growing brands — has arrived in Suffolk County.

Nothing Bundt Cakes has swung open the doors at a new location in Commack. Serving up its signature bundt treats of various sizes — including Bundtinis, Bundlets and the more traditional-sized bundt cakes — the store is among 40-plus Nothing Bundt Cakes locations to open this year in the United States and Canada.

Nestled in the Commack Corners Shopping Center at 6524 Jericho Turnpike and owned by sisters Lisa and Stefani Giordano, the bakery handed out 300 free personal sized Bundtlets during its grand opening. The store held not one but two ribbon cutting ceremonies — the first was hosted by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce and the second was conducted by the Northport Chamber of Commerce.

A five-day opening celebration included a Healthcare Workers and First Responders Appreciation Day and a Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Day. It concluded June 2 with a Teachers and School Staff Appreciation Day.

The Commack shop is the first Nothing Bundt Cakes in Suffolk, and just the second to open on Long Island. Carle Place’s Nothing Bundt Cakes opened in 2023. A location is slated to open later this year in Valley Stream.

While the Dallas-based company is just now dipping their toes onto Long Island, the brand counts more than 600 bakeries in 40 states and Canada.

Big, medium and just enough

Nothing Bundt Cakes serves up its treats in five sizes. Here’s a breakdown:

• They offer your not-so-run-of-the-mill eight-inch, 10-inch and tiered bundt cakes. The eight-inch serves eight humans, the 10-inch serves 18 and the tiered version can feed 26.

• Bundtlets are essentially personal-sized cakes. They make for cute sweetheart gifts or nice surprises for relatives and friends.

• The Bundtinis are bite-sized treats that come in a box by the dozen. You can share them — or not.

• The cakes come in 10 flavors and styles: carrot, chocolate chocolate chip, vanilla, confetti, gluten-free chocolate chip cookie, lemon, red velvet, snickerdoodle, strawberries and cream, and white chocolate raspberry. Key lime is the temporary featured flavor until July 14.

• Nothing Bundt Cakes also sells tons of accessories to personalize cakes for specific celebrations.

The Commack Nothing Bundt Cakes is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

In April, Nothing Bundt Cakes, which opened 84 bakeries in 2023, was named Yelp’s 2024 No. 26 Fastest Growing Brand. It also was ranked No. 84 in the 2024 Technomic Top 500 Chain Restaurant Report. In 2023, Nothing Bundt Cakes was named Yelp’s No. 2 Most Loved Brand.

“With the great desire guests have to show care and kindness to their loved ones and colleagues, coupled with the rising trend of Gen Z enjoying ‘little sweet treats’ and the snackification of the American diet, Nothing Bundt Cakes is growing faster than ever,” Nothing Bundt Cakes CEO Dolf Berle said. “We have been able to drive the business forward by elevating celebratory occasions and leveraging the ‘treat yourself’ trend – something our cakes have been doing since we opened our first bakery more than 25 years ago.”
