The 2018 Bay Shore/Brightwaters St. Patrick’s Parade is March 10

|

The annual St. Patrick’s Parade is all set for March 10 in downtown Bay Shore.

This is among the biggest parades on the island, and is organized annually by the Bay Shore Brightwaters St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, which recently unveiled a new website dedicated to the event.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. and marches (rain or shine) west on Main Street from Saxon Avenue to St. Patrick’s R.C. Church. (Click here to request to march.)

This year’s Grand Marshal is Harry Brown, who’s been heavily involved in the Greater Bay Shore community for decades, including his volunteer work with the school district.

“He has actively participated on the highly successful Summit Council, which greatly assisted in the rebirth of our community, and worked to reactivate the Bay Shore High School Alumni Association, raising funds for student scholarships over the past 17 years,” reads the parade website.

His vision also led to the creation of the Bay Shore High School Hall of Fame.
