The arts took over Main Street in Bay Shore, and GLI shot photos

Things looked a little hairy Saturday with the weather.

But the sun ended up shining brightly on Bay Shore come Sunday, as the local chamber hosted its big annual Arts Festival by the Bay.

To the uninitiated, think of a craft fair in a street festival. The party ran all day on Main Street — in the heart of the downtown — and Greater Long Island photographer Eric Micallef was there. (Scroll down for photos.)

“The Arts Festival by the Bay is more than just an event; it’s a vibrant reflection of Bay Shore’s creative soul and community pride,” said Edward Fraser, president of the Greater Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce, as well as deputy commissioner of the Bay Shore Business Improvement District. “

“For 22 years, this festival has brought together artists, families, neighbors, and visitors to celebrate what makes our downtown truly special. Events like this not only boost local businesses and tourism but also strengthen the fabric of our community,” he added.
