Long Island fans hoping for a summer night of “Good Vibrations” at Jones Beach will have to make other plans.
The Beach Boys have postponed their Aug. 2 concert at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater, leaving the show in Wantagh among a number of dates affected by the bandโs break from touring through early September.
“We’re so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding,” the band said in a statement. “We can’t wait to get back out there and share the music with all of you.”
The group said it’s taking “a short break to recharge” after a busy stretch of performances celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of its landmark album, Pet Sounds. The band said it plans to return to the road in September and offered no further explanation.
The Jones Beach date is one of more than two dozen concerts postponed between July 23 and Sept. 3, affecting stops all across the country.
Northwell Jones Beach Theatre might have more information on refunds or any rescheduling announcements.ย
The announcement comes just over a year since Beach Boys co-founder, lead guitarist and primary songwriter Brian Wilson died on June 11, 2025, at the age of 82.
