They’re going all-in on Halloween at Patchogue’s Meetball Place

|

Why it matters: This is more than a Halloween stunt — it’s the start of a whole new era for That Meetball Place, with Millie’s Smash Bar waiting in the wings and a fresh rebrand on deck.

Halloween takeover

That Meetball Place in Patchogue doesn’t just have a new look this October — it’s been transformed into a full-blown Halloween wonderland.

The long-running restaurant at 52 W. Main St. is hosting the Salem Sisters Halloween Pop Up, an immersive dining experience inspired by the cult-favorite film Hocus Pocus.

And the place is already decked-out. (Keep scrolling for more photos.)

The month-long event promises surprise encounters with the “Salem Sisters” themselves, spooky cocktails, and themed menu items like the Salem Soft Pretzel, Bewitched Brats, and Graveyard Sticky Ribs, the owners said.

Guests reserve 90-minute seatings inside the theatrically decorated space and walk away with an exclusive Salem Sisters keepsake.

“We’re trying to bring fun things to Patchogue, and the Halloween thing seems like it’s really going to be fun,” said Joseph Reale, a Meetball Place co-founder and owner.

“It’s unlike anything Patchogue has seen before,” added owner Scottie Campbell. “It really feels like you’ve stepped into another world.”

The Halloween fun is just part of what’s brewing inside That Meetball Place this fall.

The restaurant’s back dining room has been gutted and rebuilt as a completely new concept: Millie’s Smash Bar, a retro-styled 1950s diner tucked inside the building, complete with a serving window to the outside. (Dishing grub until 3 a.m.)

Slated to be fully open by mid-October, Millie’s will serve up single and double smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and other diner-inspired bites — from its own separate kitchen, but all fully accessible through That Meetball Place.

A new chapter after Halloween

This fall also marks a broader rebirth for That Meetball Place. Beyond the popup, the entire restaurant has been refurbished from the ground up, with new bar tops, furniture, flooring, and expanded bathrooms.

The work started in late August and ran through September.

The Halloween event runs all October, but come Nov. 2, the restaurant begins a rebrand — setting the stage for an even more dramatic reveal of what’s next for this longtime Patchogue staple. Check back with Greater Long Island for updates.

The Popup dining experience

💡 If you go, each ticket includes 90 minutes of table seating, surprise Salem Sisters encounters, a themed keepsake, and access to the spooky menu. They’ll also be flipping burgers (and more) at Millie’s Smash Bar in the back until 3 a.m. And after the popup wraps up each night at 10 p.m.
