Three Village Dads bring ‘Star Wars’ characters to Stony Brook Children’s Hospital

|

The day after Christmas several local dads visited Stony Brook Children’s Hospital to bring some holiday cheer — as well as the Force with them.

Members of the popular Three Village Dads Facebook page, Steve Wong and John Karnbach, pulled the strings to bring “Star Wars” characters to meet the children.

The kids were able to meet portrayals of Jedis and Stormtroopers that are featured in the newly-released “Rise of Skywalker” movie. There was even a replica R2D2.

“A lot of the children were excited to see the characters, even many employees at the hospital were happy,” said David Tracy, head of the Facebook group.

The news of the “Star Wars” invasion quickly spread to national outlets, including CBS and ABC.

“It was cool to see our event made it out to California in the news,” said Tracy. “It was an awesome year for us, looking forward to 2020.”
