A brand new playground returns to Overlook Beach just in time for the warm weather hitting the island.
The prior playground needed to be replaced after suffering blows by the beach’s natural elements and oceanic air, according to the Town of Babylon.
Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor and Parks & Recreation Chairman Antonio Martinez announced last week the new play area is now open for the summer.
“We thank our department of Parks & Recreation for their efforts to get the playground finished in time for the summer season, and we hope residents enjoy the improvements,” town officials said in the official Facebook announcement.
