West Islip moms spearhead pajama drive for kids in foster care

|

Two West Islip mothers are helping to give all local children a warm and comfy holiday season by collecting pajamas for children living in foster care.

Kelly Dunbar and Dina Woods are calling on their neighbors to donate pajamas in sizes that would fit newborns to kids as old as 21, and of both genders.

“[We] wanted to do something for Christmas, so we brainstormed and PJs are always easy,” said Dunbar. “There are children out there that could use your help, you can get PJs for $8.”

The PJ drive will be going on until Dec. 15, with all donations going to Children’s Aid.

Dunbar said she was motivated to do the drive to be a good role model for her own children.

“I just wanted to teach [my children] that there is good in this world,” she said.

To donate, contact Kelly Dunbar at 646-236-4247 or Dina Woods at 917-704-1548.
