Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Or the patio table, dresser and storage ottoman.
The much maligned Wayfair store inside Tanger Outlets in Deer Park is closing down and moving out. Though not before offering a whopping “75% off all lowest ticketed prices” in a store closing sale that ends when the store closes on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m.
The shopping experience hasn’t been so great since the store replaced Christmas Tree Shops in fall 2023, according to reviewers on multiple platforms.
Reddit users have been hard on the store, noting that the inventory is comprised of returns and refused deliveries. Yelp reviewers were none the kinder, slamming the store for its overpriced and often damaged items.
“Don’t waste your time,” ceekay0101 wrote on Reddit. “Wayfair seems to dump their returned items here and there are no significant cost savings — especially when a lot of It is damaged.”
The review from teddysmom377 on Reddit was brief and to the point: “Sucks! So overpriced it’s unbelievable!”

R.W. wrote on Yelp that he visited the store in November 2023, shortly after it opened.
“At first glance you will see the prices are outrageous,” he wrote. “All in the store are obvious returns. It appears that if you purchase from Wayfair online (for instance a 2 piece Sectional) and one of the sides is damaged, Wayfair brought the undesirable side here to rid themselves of it, however keeping the online price.
“I do understand a furniture outlet with significantly reduced prices, this is not the case. It’s quite obvious that Wayfair is attempting to recoup 100% of their loss,” added R.W., who then accurately predicted the future. “I look forward to seeing what fills this location next.”
The Deer Park location was Wayfair’s only outlet shop in New York. It has six other stores — in Kentucky, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Illinois and Ohio.
