Where’s Ed? Sheeran sightings take over Long Island

|

Where’s Ed?

That has become the question on Long Island this week.

Ed Sheeran was in town ahead of his two shows at MetLife Stadium this weekend, and the international superstar has been spotted at restaurants — according to social media — and just about everywhere else in Suffolk County.

Some of the sightings are real.

Others? Not so much.

Sheeran’s Long Island food tour started at Osteria Umbra in Smithtown, where he loved the cheesecake, ownership said.

He then turned up at eatMOSAIC in St. James, posting a photo outside the restaurant with the caption, “Best meal of my year thank you @eatmosaic.” Sheeran was joined in the photo by fellow musician and Long Island native Jon Bellion, pictured above.

Then AI took over.

Suddenly, the four-time Grammy Award winner was popping up all over Long Island.

There was Sheeran enjoying a pint at the bar at Napper Tandy’s. There he was at Friendly’s in Stony Brook, sitting in a booth with chicken fingers, fries and a Fribble.

Apparently, he needed a new ride, too. Advantage Acura posted an image of Sheeran holding up a set of new car keys.

The Smithtown Library got in on the fun, posting a photo of Sheeran hugging the Smithtown Bulls mascot.

Then Chubs Meats in Medford raised the stakes.

The butcher shop posted an image of Sheeran slicing raw steak behind the counter, joking that the superstar had stopped in to fill an open position.

At this point, if you haven’t seen Ed Sheeran somewhere on Long Island this week, you may not be looking hard enough.
