Melissa Kuehnle Long Island Business News 40 under 40

Melissa Kuehnle, the director of communications and external relations for St. Joseph’s College, was recognized this month with a Long Island Business News “40 Under 40” award.

She and the others in the Class of 2017 were honored Jan. 19 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

According to a message from Long Island Business News publisher Scott Schoen, the list included “Long Island’s very best and brightest,” people who “have a wide range of accomplishments.”

“I’m pretty proud,” said Kuehnle, 36. “There were people on that list who are attorneys at law firms, doctors, a principal of Aboff’s, whose last name is actually Aboff.”

“I promote education and do public relations; I’m not curing cancer,” she added. “But promoting education is important, too, and that’s something no one could ever take away from you.”

Long Island Business News has given out the awards annually since 1998.

Kuehnle, who lives in Medford, also serves as the Greater Patchogue Chamber Commerce board’s 2nd vice president, marketing committee chair and social media manager.

And, she is a contributor to greaterpatchogue.com and greaterbayshore.com.
