Rent is just about two weeks away from taking the stage at The Gateway in Bellport.
And when it does, TV star Michelle Veintimilla, best known for playing super-villain Firefly in the second season of Fox’s acclaimed television series Gotham, will be playing Mimi.
To the uninitiated, Mimi is Rent’s lead female role.
The Gateway made the announcement this past week for the show that runs from May 17 to June 3.
A Long Island native, Michelle has also appeared as a younger Chita Rivera in the Broadway production of The Visit.
She also received accolades for her portrayal of Maria in Philip William McKinley’s production of Bernstein’s West Side Story at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, according to Gateway’s announcement.
Also look for Veintimilla in the upcoming ABC TV comedy Downward Dog.
