They’ve all dined at The Oar Steak & Seafood Grille in Patchogue.
And if you live in Patchogue, it’s likely you have, too.
Now you can own “The Oar House,” as the locals know it, for a cool $9 million.
The waterfront restaurant and its 1-acre property just went up for sale. The listing is being represented by Enzo Morabito and Michael Murphy of Douglas Elliman.
“Patchogue is a water community and it’s been wonderful to have [The Oar] that celebrates the tradition of growing up, fishing and doing everything that we did as kids,” said Morabito. “Patchogue River has always been the center point. That’s where the ferries run. That’s where people from New York used to come to.”
The Oar and the rest of the river played a huge role in the village’s much-celebrated revitalization, Morabito said.
“It’s just a perfect setting for what’s occurred in the whole Patchogue area,” he said, stressing also that The Oar will not be closing. “This is a long range thing.”
Oar Steak & Seafood Grille owner and lifelong Patchogue resident Dick Blakeslee built the 30-plus-year-old family business, which comprises the restaurant, a catering business, Sun DEK Marina and a pump station — from the ground up.

At the beginning, it was just a boat filling-station and snack bar. Now it’s a bustling waterfront business that helped pave the way for other dining destinations on the river.
