Lake Grove location also planned
Just a year after opening its first Long Island restaurant, 7th Street Burger is taking another bite out of the local burger scene with a new location in Levittown.
The fast-growing smashburger chain, which got its start in New York City, is coming to 3695 Hempstead Turnpike. Construction is expected to begin next month, with the restaurant slated to open in early 2027.
The restaurant will be located in a redeveloped shopping center at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Wantagh Avenue, just east of BJ’s Wholesale Club and AMC Levittown 10.
The shopping center is quickly filling with new tenants. In addition to 7th Street Burger, Greater Long Island has learned that The Dirty Cheesecake is expected to open next door. The Levittown shop will be the dessert brand’s third location and first in Nassau County, joining locations in Smithtown and North Babylon.
A spokesperson for 7th Street Burger told Greater Long Island that the Levittown location is expected to open around the same time as the chain’s Lake Grove restaurant planned for 1995 Nesconset Highway. Those are currently the only two additional Long Island locations with signed leases.
Still, company officials say they’re just getting started.
“Long Island is an attractive market,” the spokesperson said. “We’re looking to expand even more.”
“There’s a lot of expansion in the pipeline,” the spokesperson added.
The growth follows a successful first year in Mineola, where the company opened last summer in the former home of The Rex Burger & Lobster.
“It has been very steady in that shopping center since we opened a year ago,” the spokesperson said. “The community loves us.”
The menu, described by founder Kevin Rezvani as “simple and affordable,” features single and double cheeseburgers, as well as an Impossible Burger, each available with or without jalapeños. Sides include regular fries, spicy fries and loaded fries.
7th Street Burger has built a loyal following since launching in Manhattan’s East Village in 2021 and has steadily expanded throughout the region.
The company now operates more than 20 locations across New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
