The Cheesecake Factory sets Dec. 15 opening at Green Acres

The Cheesecake Factory is preparing to open its new restaurant at Green Acres in Valley Stream on Dec. 15, and the company is looking to hire more than 285 employees ahead of its debut.

The popular restaurant chain announced Tuesday that it is accepting applications for a variety of positions, including bartenders, servers, hosts, bussers, cashiers, dishwashers, line cooks, prep cooks and dessert finishers/baristas. Interested applicants can apply online.

The new restaurant will feature The Cheesecake Factory’s extensive menu of more than 250 selections, along with more than 30 varieties of cheesecake, an announcement reads.

The opening comes as Green Acres undergoes a major redevelopment aimed at expanding its retail and dining offerings.

The 400,000-square-foot project includes plans for an 80,000-square-foot ShopRite supermarket, new outdoor green spaces, expanded dining areas and a redesigned entrance to the mall’s northeast wing.

Other retailers and restaurants expected to join Green Acres and the adjacent Green Acres Commons include Shake Shack, Panda Express, Tony’s Tacos, Sephora, Paris Baguette, Club Pilates, Zumiez, Urban Planet and LaserAway.

Together, the two shopping centers currently feature more than 160 retailers and restaurants, according to Green Acres.
