Brookhaven Polar Plunge returns to Mount Sinai on Nov. 21

Take a dip in the Sound to support Special Olympics New York athletes

How cold is Long Island Sound in November? You can find out for yourself Saturday, Nov. 21, when the Town of Brookhaven Polar Plunge returns to Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai.

The annual fundraiser supports Special Olympics New York, helping provide year-round sports training, competitions, health programs and leadership opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.

You can take the plunge on your own, start a team with friends or co-workers, or join an existing team. There’s no minimum donation to participate. If you’d rather stay dry, you can donate directly or support a plunger or team, organizers said.
