20 Photos: Take a look at The Shipyard, under construction in Port Jeff

|

Move-in day at The Shipyard at Port Jefferson Harbor is officially Jan. 18

In the meantime, GreaterPortJeff got a tour of the construction at 201 West Broadway, formerly the site of a motel that used to greet visitors from the west.

The Shipyard will consist of 112 apartments, a gym, clubhouse and a sprawling courtyard with four barbecues, a fire pit and turf fields for lawn games or lying out.

The massive parking garage will also contain a dog washing station for pups coming back from walks along the beach.

The front entrance will be punctuated by a hotel-style carport.

“This is class-A living; no carrying grocery bags across parking lots in the rain,” said Robert Kent of Tritec Real Estate, The Shipyard’s developers.

There’s also wide-open rooftop access for guests to enjoy company and the Long Island Sound.

“So even if you don’t have a harbor view, you can still see Connecticut from home,” Kent said. “It’s beautiful here.”

Monthly rents range from $2,844 to $4,183.

The architecture was inspired by historic buildings from around the village.
