Momo’s Too in Bayport hosted 94.3 The Shark’s Orlando Birthday Bash for Angela’s House on Saturday, raising funds and awareness for families with children who suffer medically or live with life-threatening illnesses.
The Shark’s morning show host and Bayport native, Brian Orlando, celebrated his 41st birthday in honor of Angela’s House for the second year, inviting family, friends and Shark listeners to rock out for a cause that is near and dear to his heart.
“I don’t have children, but you see what these parents go through, and you fall in love with the cause,” Orlando said. “Angela’s House deals with the underside, the underbelly of charity, the rough side – and that’s what I like.”
Saturday’s partygoers received an arm’s length of raffle tickets to take their chances on an array of donated prizes, including a guitar autographed by 1990’s rock-band Candlebox, autographed items from Run DMC and concert tickets.
Black Circle Project, a Long Island 1990’s alternative cover band, performed, as well as the 1990’s grunge-rock band Sponge. Orlando called his grandmother on speaker phone and sang Stevie Wonder’s “I Just Called to Say I Love You,” with back up from Sponge and Brendan B. Brown, front man for 90’s pop-rock band Wheatus.
