Greater Patchogue TV caught up with WBC International Light Heavyweight Champion and Long Island native Joe Smith Jr. this week as he worked out at Finest Fitness on East Main Street.
Tuesday was Smith’s first time out training since achieving instant fame by punching boxing legend Bernard Hopkins out of the ring in Los Angeles.
“I like to come down to these gyms and try to inspire the younger kids … if this is something they really want to do, to keep working at it,” he said. “Maybe one day they’ll be champ.”
