This new Patchogue business is using its store space, services to give back during health crisis

The owners of the new Patch Print, Ship & More shop in Patchogue admit opening during the COVID-19 crisis is hard, but that’s not stopping them from their mission of giving back to the local area.

“This community is very important to us,” said Patchogue resident James Diele-Stein, who opened the printing shop with his husband Ron on March 16.

Since launching at 83 South Ocean Avenue, the company remained open through the state’s shutdown to offer essential shipping services. Additionally, the shop offers stamps, printing, promotional items, key duplicating, laminating and P.O. box rentals.

Because of the pandemic, James and Ron also quickly began rolling out discounted services and relief initiatives.

The two partnered with Pat-Med High School student Julia Katz to sell masks — the proceeds helping the Patchogue Restaurant Committee to help feed healthcare workers; they’ve set up a food donation box for nonprofit Angels of Long Island in their store, and they are offering 15% off banners for Patchogue Chamber of Commerce members and Patchogue residents.

“We do it because we want the community to know if we are open we will do what we can to help other organizations,” James told GreaterPatchogue.

Patch Print, Ship & More’s business hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
