Hats off to Levittown’s Nick Roselli.
The Binghamton University freshman hit .750 and smacked two home runs in Binghamton’s two-game appearance in College Baseball’s World Series last weekend. Playing second base for the Bearcats, Roselli had three RBIs and four runs scored, as well as eight assists in the field with no errors.
Binghamton fell to No. 2 Stanford 20-7 in the NCAA regional opener on Friday, with Roselli leading the Bearcats’ offense, going 4-for-5 with a home run.
On Saturday, Roselli crushed another home run — his eighth of the season — and went two-for-three when Binghamton was eliminated by 20th-ranked UC Santa Barbara 9-4 on Saturday.
Roselli’s standout rookie performance in the World Series regional earned him a spot on the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
Roselli was a three-year varsity shortstop at Division High School and was a captain on the wrestling team. He graduated from Division last June.
In his first year with Binghamton, Roselli started 36 games and hit. 307. He tied for the team lead in home runs and totaled 22 RBIs.
