Carmelo Anthony isn’t back with the Knicks, but we may see Melo on Long Island in the very near future.
Kiyan Anthony, Carmelo’s son, announced Sunday on Twitter he will be transferring to high school powerhouse Long Island Lutheran in Brookville.
The 15-year-old is a shooting guard and currently a sophomore at Christ the King High School and ranked as the 62nd best player in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports.
Kiyan, who is 6-foot-5, currently holds college offers from Bryant, George Mason, Memphis and Syracuse, where his father won a NCAA national championship in 2003.
Kiyan is ineligible to play for LuHi this season, but Crusaders head coach John Buck tells Greater Long Island that Kiyan should have two seasons of basketball with the Crusaders before college.
“His family reached out to us and shared an interest a few weeks ago,” Buck tells GLI. “He went through the enrollment process and was accepted. He’s a talented player and has a humble approach. He will fit in well.”
Buck says Kiyan will start taking classes at LuHi tomorrow.
LuHi (14-2) is currently the 12th ranked team in the country according to the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings.
