Know before you go: Road closures at Riverhead’s Polish Fest

Riverhead’s annual Polish Festival takes place this weekend and authorities are advising attendees to plan ahead, as several road closures will be in effect.

The roadways, the police announced, will be closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to about 8 p.m.

The affected streets include:

• Pulaski Street, from Griffing Avenue to Marcy Avenue
• Osborn Avenue, from Pulaski Street to Lincoln Street
• Lincoln Street, from Hallett Avenue to Osborn Avenue

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time if heading into the festival area. Cops said the closures are intended to provide a safe environment for festival-goers.
