Suffolk County investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding the person who tossed two kittens from a moving car in West Babylon earlier this summer.

Police said a sedan traveling west on Montauk Highway near Fleets Point Drive on June 17 slowed about 9 a.m., when someone inside threw the kittens from the vehicle.

One kitten was struck and killed by another motorist, according to authorities. The second cat was taken to a veterinarian for treatment and survived.

Detectives from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Biological, Environmental and Animal Safety Team (BEAST) are working the case alongside Suffolk County Crime Stoppers.
