|

Family and friends will gather Wednesday in Bethpage to mourn the deaths of the Seaford couple killed in their family-run deli on Thursday, allegedly by their son.

Services are set for Angela Pulisciano, 62, and her husband, 70-year-old Antonio D’Ambrosio, who owned and operated A & A Italian Deli & Pizza on Hicksville Road for decades, becoming a fixture in the Bethpage community.

Visitation will be held over two days at Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home in Bethpage, 20 Hicksville Road:

Wednesday, Dec. 10
• 2–5 p.m.
• 7–9 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 11
• 2–5 p.m.
• 7–9 p.m.

A funeral Mass will follow on Friday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 80 Hicksville Road in Seaford.

Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave. in Farmingdale.

The murders of Pulisciano and D’Ambrosio have prompted an outpouring of grief from longtime customers and neighbors — and an extraordinary show of support for their surviving children.

A GoFundMe launched on behalf of the couple’s other adult children has drawn nearly $70,000 in contributions from more than 1,200 donors.

The fundraiser describes the husband and wife as “two of the kindest, most hardworking people we have ever known,” recalling how they built their deli “with love, humility, and pure dedication” after immigrating from Italy more than three decades ago.

Their daughter and sons are faced with planning a double funeral, carrying unimaginable grief, and navigating sudden financial burdens no family could ever be prepared for.

“This … is our chance to give back to Tony and Angela the way they gave to all of us for decades,” the GoFundMe organizer wrote. “If you ever stopped in for your morning coffee, grabbed a sandwich on your lunch break, or simply felt the warmth and kindness they radiated, please consider donating.”

Honoring their legacy

Tributes have filled the funeral home’s online memorial page.

“We have been customers of Angela and Tony for years,” Lois Greco wrote. “We would share family stories, and they were more than shop owners — they cared about their community. They will be greatly missed… We are all brokenhearted.”

The John Hein family remembered the couple as “hardworking folks that always provided a warm greeting,” adding that the loss “has been heavy on my heart.”

Another customer, Teresa Alvarez, wrote that she “will always cherish the way they treated my family every time we stopped by to purchase our food,” adding, “We will miss them dearly. They were so kind to all who entered the deli.”

The couple’s son, Vito D’Ambrosio, 30, faces murder charges in the double killing, Nassau police said.
