An elderly Lindenhurst man was struck by two vehicles and killed Monday night while attempting to cross Montauk Highway, police said.
Suffolk Police said 77-year-old Kenneth Cook was crossing Montauk Highway on foot from south to north between South Wellwood and Washington avenues when he was hit by two vehicles about 7:39 p.m.
Cook was first hit by an eastbound 2021 BMW X5 driven by Ronald Nunn, 73, of Babylon, and then struck by a westbound 2014 Ford Explorer driven by Emma Pollard, 20, of Lindenhurst.
Cook was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. Neither driver was injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
