Manorville’s One 11 Tacos to open Selden location this February

|

A popular taco shop in eastern Suffolk is expanding to the west.

One 11 Tacos, which first opened in Manorville, is preparing to launch a second location in owner Matt Rappa’s hometown of Selden.

The new spot will open on Middle Country Road, taking over the former L’anatra Pizza space.

“It’s such an up-and-coming area,” Rappa told Greater Long Island. “When this space became available, we knew this is exactly where we wanted to be.”

Much like the Manorville location, the Selden restaurant will feature more than 20 varieties of tacos, spanning classic, Mexican street-style, and the shop’s signature “Twisted” creations.

Proteins include ground beef, chicken, shrimp, fish, pulled pork, beef birria and steak.

“Top-of-the-line quality,” Rappa said. “I would only sell stuff here that I would eat. If that means spending a little bit more money to get a better piece of steak, then that’s what I do. It’s supposed to melt in your mouth, not be chewy.”

The menu also includes burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and salads. One notable upgrade at the Selden location: beer and frozen alcoholic drinks will be served.

Rappa is no stranger to the food and beverage world. In addition to One 11 Tacos, he also owns La Bistro in Wading River and Yaphank’s Southpaw Brewing Company, which expanded to Port St. Lucie, Fla., last summer.

“I have always had a passion for food,” Rappa said with a smile. “My family is Italian. So even as a little kid, I remember making our own sauce.”

The Selden location is expected to open by the end of February.
