Next time you’re flying out of JFK’s Terminal 4, come hungry.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey recently announced a fresh lineup of food and drink spots coming to the terminal — and it’s a love letter to New York’s culinary scene.
We’re talking names like Eataly, Dos Toros Taqueria, Boqueria, Fieldtrip, Chopt (originated in Manhattan), Bessou and Brooklyn Tea & Market, plus Queens-based Villa Russo Café.
It’s all part of an expanded concessions program that aims to bring authentic local flavor to the international terminal.
The lineup was announced in a joint press release from the Port Authority and JFKIAT, which operates Terminal 4. The new concessions were curated in partnership with HMSHost, a global travel dining company that was awarded the contract to oversee operations, the release reads.
HMSHost also brought in seven local and diverse joint-venture partners, many of them ACDBE-certified (Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise), to help run the businesses — part of a mentorship program designed to support community-based entrepreneurs.
“Terminal 4’s lineup of appealing, iconic local brands will help to create a travel experience that is unique to New York,” said Rick Cotton, executive director of the Port Authority.
The upgraded and localized food options come as part of a $1.5 billion transformation of JFK’s Terminal 4.
