Rocky Point’s newest grocery store is now just days away from opening.
On Thursday, July 27, the doors will open to customers for the first time at the new Aldi supermarket, located at 75 Route 25A in the Crossroads Plaza East shopping center.
At its grand opening, the German-owned discount supermarket will dole out “golden tickets” — that could be worth up to $100 — to its first 100 customers. Additionally, initial shoppers will receive free tote bags and from July 27-30 have the option to enter a contest for a chance to win a $500 gift card.
Rocky Point and Miller Place residents were mailed flyers this month with a $5 coupon off a minimum $30 purchase. Operating from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, Aldi joins Dollar Tree, Mattress Firm, Music Haus and Dime Savings Bank in the shopping center.

The store fills 22,000 square feet of space that was previously home to Modell’s Sporting Goods, which closed in 2020, and Mattress Firm, which relocated within the plaza.
The Rocky Point location is Aldi’s 13th store on Long Island. The supermarket chain also has plans to open a store in Medford in the Medford Crossings shopping center at 2799 Route 112.
